In general, wisdom teeth are the upper and lower third molars located at the very back of your mouth. They are called “wisdom teeth” because they are the last teeth to surface in the mouth and usually come in when a person is in their early or late teenage years. Frequently, there is not enough room in the mouth and the wisdom teeth are impacted. When wisdom teeth are impacted, they can crowd or damage adjacent teeth, the jawbone or nerves.
